24 Wounded, 1 Dead in AKRON, Ohio — The city of Akron is enveloped in sorrow following a night marred by violence and tragedy. The horrific shooting incident unfolded shortly after midnight at the intersection of Kelly and 8th, leaving at least one person dead and 24 Wounded.

Authorities from the Akron Police Department reported that the deceased victim was a 27-year-old male. A spokesperson from Summa Health stated that the individual was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. Local hospitals are currently treating multiple victims with varying degrees of injuries, some of whom are in critical condition.
Ohio politicians, including Senator Sherrod Brown and Senator J.D. Vance, along with other state officials, have expressed deep concern and extended prayers to the victims and their families. They have also called for concrete actions to address the escalating issue of gun violence in America.
Akron’s Mayor, Shammas Malik, and Police Chief Brian Harding issued a joint statement saying, “Our city is reeling this morning from the senseless devastation of violence. With over twenty victims, pain and trauma reverberate across all of Akron today as we seek answers.”
